The Department of Commerce is functioning since the establishment of the college i.e. 1982. A Pioneering department in the field of Post Graduate course in the Chandigarh (UT). It is the only Govt. College in the Chandigarh offering Master of Commerce since 2000.The major focus area of department of commerce is the development of Entrepreneurial, Managerial, Communication, Finance and Accounting skills of the students to prepare them as per industry requirements. The Department is also motivating the students to join professional courses and many students have already completed professional courses like CA/ICWAI/CS and are well placed in the market. Many PG students of the Department have cleared the UGC-NET as well as JRF and completed PhD from different Universities and a good number have been placed in colleges and universities.
